Freedom

I love freedom; even when exercised by people who bug me.

The whole duty of man consists in being reasonable and just… I am reasonable because I know the difference between understanding and not understanding and I am just because I have no opinion about things I don’t understand.— Gertrude Stein

  1. sure beats “a rose is a rose is a rose”. I had often wondered where she lived in Paris and where it was that Hemmingway would visit her. While living there, I used to sort of halfheartedly wonder but didn’t do much about it. One day, my French class at Alliance was moved to a building just behind the main school building…I had arrived very early, was leaning against the new building and looked out directly over the very narrow, old street…and read on one of the typical shield-shaped signs one sees here where someone well known has lived: “Here lived Gertrude Stein…” etc.
It seemed she’d found ME 🙂 I love when things like that happen.
